Jesus healed everyone who came to Him. His is the only example worth following.
Jesus Christ is perfect theology. He is the most complete and accurate revelation of the Father ever seen in this world, and He declared Himself: “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father” (John 14:9). In the life of Jesus, we clearly see God’s will to heal and to destroy the works of darkness.
Everyone who came to Jesus was healed, yet He said, “The Son can do nothing of Himself” (John 5:19). Jesus, who was entirely God, modeled life with the limitations of a man. His life was an illustration of what one man could do who had no sin and was entirely empowered by the Holy Spirit.
The mandate on every believer is to do as Jesus did; we have been given a commission to heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons (see Matt 10:8). He started something that we are to complete. Having received His Holy Spirit, we now have the great privilege of walking in the same anointing Jesus Himself walked in.
Jesus already decided to heal and paid the ultimate price for our healing and freedom with His life. If we pray for someone and they don’t get healed, that doesn’t change our assignment. God is looking to co-labor with us to fulfil His purpose on earth to establish His Kingdom and reveal His goodness.
